Notes
This was a demonstrator bus.
The second AEC was an example of a chassis which had been very successful in Great Britain and for export, especially to New Zealand, South Africa, South America and the left-hand drive form to Europe. A few private operators who had purchased AEC Reliances had a problematic 470 motor with head gasket issues. This was solved by Rockhampton City Council who then passed on their knowledge to the BCC and within a short time, the 470 make was regarded as a very reliable engine.
